BMTC has been conferred with BW Smart Cities Conclave & Award 2016 award during the Summit in New Delhi. BMTC’s Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) initiative services were chosen amongst the top projects promoting sustainable mobility in India.

BMTC has been conferred with Skoch Platinum award and “Order-of-Merit" for mobility award during the 46th Skoch Summit in New Delhi. Seven of BMTC’s initiatives including labour welfare measures, Intelligent Transport system and mobile application, women safety, bus service for the poor at a discounted rate and implementation of Trunk and feeder serviceswere chosen amongst the top 100 projects promoting sustainable mobility in India. Further 5 initiatives were selected for Platinum award.

BMTC is issuing special 10 day passes of Rs. 500/- temporarily which is valid from 15.11.2016 to 24.11.2016. Public can obtain these passes by paying the existing currencies of different denominations and can also obtain by paying Rs.500 and Rs.1000/- notes which are withdrawn by GOI. Commuters are allowed to travel unlimited in all ordinary services except in Air Conditioned services.

            During the Month of August-2016 the Checking staff of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation have checked 23913 trips and penalized 7422 ticketless passengers by collecting Rs. 12,13,330/- as penalty and booked  2739 cases against conductor’s for their dereliction of duty.   During  the  aforesaid  period  the  Checking Staff  have  penalized  491 male passengers  occupying seats exclusively reserved  for  lady  passengers  & imposed  fine  of  Rs. 49,100/-  in accordance  with  KMV  Rules  94  r/w  section 177  of   MV  Act  1988.

BMTC bagged, Greentech Foundation, New Delhi’s Greentech Safety Award 2016-Silver Award in Public Utility Services Sector for outstanding achievements in Safety Management.The Award was presented at the award ceremony on 30-8-2016 at Goa. Sri Francis Dezoja, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Goa, presented the award to BMTC which was received by Sri B.V.Srinivasa, Deputy Chief Traffic Manager and Sri P.M.Chidambara, Divisional Traffic Officer.

BMTC will start extending the use of the existing dispensary with first aid facility to the commuters at Kempegowda Bus Station. Also, one of the 108 service ambulances will be permanently available at KBS in the event of unexpected causalities or emergency situations.

During the Month of February-2016 Checking staff of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation have checked 29060 trips and penalized 7683 ticketless passengers by collecting Rs. 11,35,390/- as penalty and booked  2882  cases against conductor’s for their dereliction of duty.  During  the  aforesaid  period  the  Checking Staff  have  penalized  982 male passengers  occupying seats exclusively reserved  for  lady  passengers  & imposed  fine  of  Rs. 98,200/-  in accordance  with  KMV  Rules  94  r/w  section 177  of   MV  Act  1988.

During the Month of January-2016 Checking staff of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation have checked 29335 trips and penalized 7681 ticketless passengers by collecting Rs. 13,69,350/- as penalty and booked  3643  cases against conductor’s for their dereliction of duty. During  the  aforesaid  period  the  Checking Staff  have  penalized  1218 male passengers  occupying seats exclusively reserved  for  lady  passengers  & imposed  fine  of  Rs. 1,21,800/-  in accordance  with  KMV  Rules  94  r/w  section 177  of   MV  Act  1988.

             The Checking staff of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation have intensified checking  of  buses operated in and around Bangalore City to detect ticketless travelling by the passengers. During the Month of  September-2014  they have checked 40811 trips and penalized 9613 ticketless passengers by collecting Rs. 16,94,180/- as penalty and booked 5269 cases against conductor’s for their dereliction of  duty .

 

            During  the  aforesaid  period  the  Checking Staff  have  penalized  2437 male passengers  occupying seats  reserved  for  lady  passengers  & imposed  fine  of  Rs. 2,43,700/-  in accordance  with  KMV  Rules  94  r/w  section 177  of   MV  Act  1988.

BMTC  organized “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan” in its all Divisions and Depots. “Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan” campaign carried out  by Dr.Ekroop Caur, IAS, Managing Director, BMTC, by cleaning the Bus, at BMTC’s Depot-4, at Jayanagar.              The Checking staff of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation has intensified checking of buses operated in and around Bangalore City to detect ticketless travelling by the passengers. During period from June-2014 to August-2014 they have checked 97838 trips and penalized 24981 ticketless passengers by collecting Rs. 43, 01,580/- as penalty and booked 13703 cases against conductor’s for their dereliction of duty.

            During  the  aforesaid  period  the  Checking Staff  have  penalized  5274 male passengers  occupying seats  reserved  for  lady  passengers  & imposed  fine  of  Rs. 5,27,400/-  in accordance  with  KMV  Rules  94  r/w  section 177  of   MV  Act  1988.

Champion League T20 cricket matches will be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium on 25.09.2014, 27.09.2014, 30.09.2014 and 04.10.2014. BMTC is operating extra buses in order to convene cricket fans travelling to Chinnaswamy Stadium from different parts of the city for watching Champion League matches.

As per the scheduled match timings, with a view to facilitate the people to reach the Chinnaswamy stadium from different parts of the city and also to reach their destination after the match from Chinnaswamy stadium to different parts of the city, BMTC is operating extra buses on ticket issue basis as per the need of travelling public. BMTC has taken measures to control noise and air pollution, now following the traffic rules while parking the buses in the bus stops awareness had been created to the staffs of BMTC at depots by the Concerned Divisional Controllers along with the assistance of traffic police.

For any complaints/ Suggestions against honking, heavy smoke in the buses and Traffic Rules, public can lodge the complaints in BMTC website, www.mybmtc.com. The complaint registered in this web page, is seen on daily basis by one of the officer at BMTC designate, Assistant Traffic Manager (Complaint) Smt Shyamala S.M, Phone No 7760991257 who in turn will sort the complaints and monitors to get the complaints attended by the respective Divisional Controllers / Head of the Depts. Any complaints/information received from the public about the excess emission of smoke in any of the BMTC buses shall be rewarded by Rs.1,000/- cash award after duly verifying the same. BMTC is also having a call centre on 24X7 hrs basis established in the corporate office of BMTC. The call centre toll free No is 1800-425-1663 with 10 lines operated by 10 persons to address the complaints 24x7.
